Since the first The Fast and the Furious released in 2001, its franchise has cemented itself as a firm favorite of car lovers around the world. The sixth installment starring Vin Diesel who is an elite street racer and ex-convict (Dominic Toretto) inspired us to write a list of the best street racing cars from all six movies. It came out later that Fast and Furious 6 is a smash success at the box office and there shall be no questions why. Incredibly awesome looking cars involved in high speed racing and chasing However, all sequels are pure Hollywood action with fast cars racing on the streets, exploding out of planes and barely dodging shells from opportunistic tanks. All fast and furious cars have played major roles in the movies and they became very popular vehicles also, all nicknamed fast furious cars. However, selecting the best racing cars from all the movies was a very interesting task and I enjoyed it a lot, so I strongly recommend this list to all car lovers.
1970 Dodge Charger (The Fast and the Furious\ Fast and Furious\ Fast Five)
This iconic car has enjoyed a fair bit of screen time in the Fast and the Furious series as it appears in three of all six movies. The Dominic Torettos Dodge Charger has been crashed and rebuilt again a few times, but one thing is for sure its first look was the best and worth remembering. In the first movie, the Dodge Charger could cover a quarter mile in nine seconds flat, thanks to the supercharged Chrysler 426 Hemi V8 engine.
1995 Toyota Supra Turbo (The Fast and the Furious)
It raced the Dodge Charger to its doom, it defeated a Ferrari, so is it possible Toyota Supra Turbo to miss this list? The 1995 Toyota Supra is one of the most famous cars of the series as it made appearance in the first movie as an eye-catching orange vehicle. Six versions of this car were used in the movie of which five were replicas of the sixth. After filming, the original Toyota Supra which was used only in close-up shots was returned to the owner unscathed, thanks to the careful handling of the productions transport managers.
1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R34 (Fast and Furious\ 2 Fast 2 Furious)
I got to admit to you, the GT-R34 is my favorite car from the series. I love it since its first appearance, but unfortunately this exact model was never officially on sail in the U.S. because of Federal Regulations. The GT-R34 boasts of twin turbochargers, 2.6 litre engine and a straight 6 cylinder which produces around 330 horse powers. In the movie, Brian OConnor (Paul Walker) restored a simple Skyline into a nitrous-supertuner, a blue-on-silver paint job paired fetchingly with blue undercar neon lighting.
1969 Dodge Charger Daytona (Fast and Furious 6)
The 1969 Dodge Charger Daytone made its appearance in the latest installment of the series. In Fast and Furious 6 Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) throws the Dodge Chargers keys away and picks up the Daytonas keys. Why? Because if any car that can be better than the 1970 Dodge Charger is the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. The aerodynamically enhanced Daytona with 500 horse powers was built especially for NASCAR and there are only about 500 of them. Seven models were used in the movie, heavily modified: with shorter front ends and drastically lowered rear wings (about half as tall as those on real Daytonas).
2006 Mazda RX-8 (Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift)
Neela (Nathalie Kelley) drove one of the greatest cars in the series, a stylish, understated blue and black 2006 Mazda RX-8. Kitted out with a Veilside body kit, the Mazda is tuned with turbo bo intercooling ducts fitted in the front bumper, a vented rotary hood and an integrated diffuser in the rear bumper. Maybe the impressive paint job makes this Turbocharged Mazda very recognizable and very attractive, because speaking of performances the RX-8 can hardly compare with any other car of this list.
1970 Ford Escort RS1600 (Fast and Furious 6)
Another small car from the sixth sequel, the Ford Escort is an 70s British car not so famous in the U.S. The 1968 Escort RS1600 housed a four-cylinder, overhead-valve engine of 1.1 or 1.3-liter, so its needless to say that its not a powerful vehicle. These stats were until this small car was introduced to a 1.6-liter twincam 16-valve BDA four-cylinder engine in 1970, transforming the Escort into a daredevil of a performance vehicle. In the set, four RS1600s were involved and only two survived a jump during the biggest set piece (a multicar chase involving a tank).
1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport (Fast Five)
The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport was introduced in the fifth sequel of the series, actually a replica of this model was used because of the high price Corvette has. A company called Mongoose Motorsports created five replicas of 1963 Corvette and they were all featured with a custom fabricated tube-frame steel chassis from the fourth generation Corvette with design elements similar to the 1960s Grand Sport and 502-horsepower V8 engine. Interested in this replica? You can get your own Mongoose Corvette Grand Sport with price of under $65,000.
1971 Jensen Interceptor (Fast and Furious 6)
The 1971 Jensen Interceptor is a British coupe with an American Chrysler V8 engine equipped and belonged to Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez). The matte-gray Lettys Interceptor was selected apparently for its look. This sports car isnt as fast or expensive as other British sports cars, but it can get you down the road quicker than walking without completely draining your wallet.
1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse (The Fast and the Furious)
The 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse belonged to the former undercover cop who later turned into racer Brian OConnor (Paul Walker) in the first movie. The car features neon green undercar lights, a roll cage cross beam with a hole to see thru, a center console to manage VDO temperature and volt meters, with customized carbon fiber panels for cutoff switches.
2012 Lucra LC470 (Fast and Furious 6)
Again a vehicle from the sixth sequel, as the 2012 Lucra LC470 its simply one of the best cars in the series. Lucra might be small in weight and measurement, but is deceptively powerful machine able to run 60mph in only 2.5 seconds. Carbon-fiber body, V8 engine and 505 horse powers are the characteristics of this car. Its front 17-inch wheels are encase in 275/40R17 Nitto NT01 tires, while the rear set are incased in 315/35R17 Nittos coupled with PBR 13-inch disc brakes.
